We’re all in it together: multi agency working with children, young people and families across local systems in the South West
Delivered online using Teams
09:30 - 15:30 Tuesday, 17 October 2023
Multi-agency working is essential for effective safeguarding and child protection. Successful collaboration and information sharing with partner agencies requires the building of trusting relationships and clear communication.
This is ever more vital in a fast-changing policy landscape with the implementation of the Care Review, updates to Working Together on the horizon, and with teams needing to work together smartly to address the needs of families struggling during the cost-of-living crisis.
In this South West conference, regional Partners and key professionals from multi-agency partners will have the opportunity to explore the challenges of cross-agency working, as well as good and innovative practice going on nationally focused on building collaborative relationships. Those joining the conference will hear from researchers and practitioners with expertise in safeguarding, pre-proceedings, pre-birth and early years, adolescents and harms outside the home, as well as family courts. Attendees will also have regular opportunities to share knowledge and reflections with regional multi-agency peers in small group reflective sessions.
The conference will support attendees to:
-
Gain an understanding of key messages from the policy landscape relating to multi-agency working.
-
Develop insights into how to build effective relationships with multi-agency partners.
-
Consider how to incorporate the voices of children, young people and families into partnership working practices.
-
Learn from examples of practice in the South West region.
Partners in the South West each have 10 places available to them and their multi-agency partners. These places come at no additional cost to your membership.
This event is particularly relevant for principle social workers (PSWs) and practice leads from our Partners in children and families services in the South West. Please also share this invitation with key multi-agency partners in your locality (e.g. safeguarding leads from local schools, district judges and magistrates, health leads, police).
