Learning Pathways guide you through key topics with summaries, tools, case studies and reflective questions to build your skills and knowledge.
Research in Practice is pleased to launch a new iteration of Learning Pathways, a dedicated modular resource that can support you with your learning journey. By following a pathway, you can deepen your understanding of a key topic, learn how to use tools and approaches, and build skills that can support you in your work with children and young people, families, adults, carers and communities.
The first pathway on critical reflection and analysis is available to Research in Practice members.
What is a Learning Pathway?
A Learning Pathway is a series of modules with sections that you can work through to progress your learning journey. Each module includes summaries, tools, case studies and reflective questions to build your skills and knowledge of a topic. The new iteration builds on and updates the original Learning Pathways functionality to improve user experience.
Learning Pathways are self-directed and are designed to be flexible, allowing you to complete at your own pace. Each section has a guide of how long it will take to complete, and your progress can be recorded in stages on your Research in Practice dashboard.
Critical reflection and analysis: Learning Pathway
Critical reflection and analysis are foundational to effective practice in social care. A new pathway explores this topic and aims to build on your skills and knowledge to inform your decisions. It introduces you to:
- Key themes through a summary of relevant resources.
- Reflective questions to help you embed the learning in your practice.
- Tools you can take away to put into practice.
Two modules are now available to Research in Practice members. A further three modules are coming soon.
Continuing professional development
You can record your learning and reflections when completing a Learning Pathway. Use this as part of your continuing professional development (CPD) record for registrations, professional standards and renewals, such as Social Work England and Royal College of Occupational Therapists.
