Designed for

Leaders’ Forum is an online event in order to maximise accessibility and inclusion. It is aimed at Directors, Assistant Directors and strategic managers from Partner organisations across the Research in Practice networks for children and families and for adults.

Overview

Resilience is sometimes misinterpreted as meaning an individual’s ability to cope, instead of looking at the features and conditions of the system in which people can thrive. The challenging landscape currently facing children’s and adults’ services requires a wider perspective in order to consider what it means to build a resilient system.

At this year’s Research in Practice Leaders’ Forum we will be exploring the idea of system resilience. To maximise accessibility and inclusion, Leaders’ Forum is delivered as a joint online event across children’s and adults’ services that provides a unique opportunity for strategic leaders to come together. We will examine what a resilient system looks and feels like for the workforce and for people needing support and will explore the role of inspection and regulation and marketisation on system resilience.

Colleagues from statutory and voluntary sector organisations, policy and academia will come together to interrogate the evidence base and share experiences – and discuss how a resilient system can enable us to deliver better support and services.
