Supporting and empowering disabled people in housing

Supporting and empowering disabled people in housing

This workshop introduces and explores a social model approach to supporting and empowering disabled people in housing. It presents an evidence base and practice learning for social care practitioners who support disabled adults with their individual housing needs and preferences. It considers the barriers which disabled people can face in securing safe and suitable accommodation, the opportunities to challenge inequality in housing options and strategies for providing person-centred support.
